In the past, we’ve found real value (and had some fun) in attending and participating in these events, so we thought we’d compile a list of the top 12 we’re looking forward to in 2018 (top 10’s are so last year).

In order to keep up with the latest developments & trends in the Web Design & Development industry, various members of the team will attend events such as the Smashing Conference & WordCamp, which are great for hearing pioneers in their respective fields discuss their work and give their thoughts on the future, as well as for meeting like-minded members of the digital community.

On top of that, we also plan to attend various events specific to industries we work regularly in, such as FinTech & Publishing. These events are an excellent way for us to keep up to date with the latest trends, and for us to deliver even greater value back to our clients.

Without further delay, here are ClarityDX’s top 12 events in 2018:

The first event of the year of a bumper events calendar, attended by our digital project manager Roz – Deliver Conference is for anyone who enjoys the various and numerous challenges of managing digital projects, learn from peers and share ideas and working practices.

Top of the list for our WordPress developer, David, this conference is useful for those who wish to gain a deeper insight into all things ‘web technologies’. From dealing with HTML to the future of writing the Internet, this two-day event is full of learning opportunities and a firm favourite of the team’s here.

A day dedicated to improving user experience, this event will provide useful and insightful alternate viewpoints on the topic with notable panelists and talks by representatives from Uber, Deliveroo & Moo, amongst others.

Having worked extensively in the FinTech sector (most recently with ClusterSeven) we’re keen to explore FinovateEurope, a notable Fintech event that attracts over 1400 senior financial and banking executives, industry analysts, bloggers and entrepreneurs from across the UK and EU. With demonstrations and industry discussions, it is an effective place to start to learn more about this emerging industry, which didn’t even exist 10 years ago. Now it’s dominating the financial services sector.

A favourite of our MD Alex Price, South By Southwest in Austin, Texas, is generally regarded as one of the most enlightening places for someone in the creative industries to be as the World and his dog descends upon the notable festival of innovation. South By Southwest dedicates itself to helping creative people achieve their goals. Founded in 1987 in Austin, Texas, SXSW is best known for its conference and festivals that celebrate the convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries.

As well as being the biggest marketing website in Europe, The Drum is also a valuable platform for connecting like-minded businesses. This annual industry event is catered for all marketing communications agencies, big and small, with notable CEOs giving practical advice on their experiences running an agency.

Noted as the UK’s leading marketing event, this interactive exhibition and conference comprehensively cover everything marketing related. These two days are also highly beneficial because along with keynote speakers and workshops, there is also the chance to exhibit.

A firm favourite for all those who use, build or are interested in WordPress. WordCamp London offers the chance for all WordPress enthusiasts to meet and share knowledge and ideas. As part of our ongoing wish to support the WordPress community, ClarityDX are once again sponsoring WordCamp London this year. It’s basically Christmas.

This two-day event gathers some of the most influential individuals in digital publishing to guide you through a series of presentations, interactive workshops, and valuable networking opportunities. From engaging with customers to optimising content creation, it provides a detailed look at publishing online content.

With this international event connecting a huge variety of innovators and business individuals within finance, this can be a great opportunity to collaborate. Fintech Week offers a series of conferences, exhibitions, workshops, and meetups. With each day focusing on a different topic, you can learn a great deal while also gaining some new and interesting contacts.

With some of the leading figures in web design and development present, these conferences are a great way to further develop your skills. From content strategy to UX talks, the workshops and presentations make sure to cover every important discipline.

This two-day festival celebrates the creative and strategic thinking behind marketing and enables you to network with individuals in a similar field. The event boasts more than 200 speakers, workshops, awards, experience rooms, and training, ensuring that your visit is a worthwhile and educational experience.

So this is where the ClarityDX team will be found throughout the year, hoping to learn and to grow, from a personal growth standpoint, and from an agency standpoint. Have we missed any events out that you’ve been to before and found incredible? Will any of you be attending these?
