It is a great pleasure of ours to announce that ClarityDX’s very own Art Director, Nicola Campbell, has been selected as a speaker for WordCamp London 2018, the premiere WordPress event in the UK.

The title of her talk will be,  “What does Gutenberg mean for design?”

Below is the synopsis of some of the issues Nicola will be addressing, along with some of the key questions that the implementation of Gutenberg will raise.

Gutenberg has been creeping up for a long time and now it’s coming for us all.

Most of the initial discussion in the community has revolved around development and usability issues. As it gets ready to launch we’re going to have to establish how we design for it, both in terms of the practical solutions we need immediately, and what it could mean for how we view our work in the long term.

– What are the features our new designs are going to have to accommodate, and for that matter what about our old ones?

– Is there such a thing as too much flexibility? How can Gutenberg help us and our clients to create better designs together?

– What does the introduction of Gutenberg suggest to us about how we should approach design in the future?

On the news that her subject matter had been chosen for discussion, Nicola said,

“I’ve been attending WordCamp for a number of years and it’s a great opportunity for all corners of the community to share their thoughts and ideas, so I’m thrilled to be adding my voice into the mix.”

You can catch Nicola’s talk on Day 1 of WordCamp London, at 5:10 pm, in the Lightning Session.

WordCamp London is the event for WordPress users in the UK. It’s aimed at anybody who uses, builds or simply has an interest in WordPress; including bloggers, designers, developers, and end-users. WordCamp’s welcome all levels of experience from beginners through to professionals and all ages.
