Meet the team: Joss
1. What is your role at ClarityDX/Clarity Performance?
I am a digital project manager.
2. What does an average day look like for you?
I’m an early bird so I start with breakfast before planning out my day. Then it’s on to second-breakfast before making a start on the day ahead. We get involved with all steps of the project process, so my day might involve general project planning, meetings with project teams or clients or quality assurance and testing of new websites or features. I usually finish the day by going to the gym or out for a walk/run.
3. What’s the most challenging part of your job?
As a project manager you need to be considerate of the entire project team – clients and colleagues. You meet so many different types of people with different personalities and no two projects are ever the same so you’ll often find yourself saying, ‘well I did it this way last time but it’s not working here.’ Having to adapt your methods and style of working is probably the most challenging and important part of the job.
4. Any advice for those who want to do what you do?
Keep everyone in the project team informed and happy, then everything will fall into place.
5. What future design and/or technology developments in the industry are you excited about?
Anything that increases efficiency or reduces the number of tabs or windows you have to have open. I’m a big advocate for Teamwork, which is the project management tool we use. There’s always new features appearing on there that can improve the way a project is run.
6. What are your passions/hobbies/interests?
I’m a big music fan and, pre-covid, went to a lot of gigs and festivals throughout the summer. I tend to hibernate throughout the winter waiting for the next season. I’m quite active – so out running or at the gym. I guess I’m also a good cook but that’s just my own review.
7. What’s your favourite thing to read in print/online?
I’m not a big reader but I do get lost in documentaries on YouTube. Could be about nearly anything!
8. What music is currently trending on your playlist?
As always, it’s a big mix. There’s a new wave of Northern Indie bands making it big at the moment so I’ve been playing them on repeat quite a bit. Also a lot of chill out summer disco vibes.
9. Tell us a random fact about you…
I always sleep with my curtains open… they never close.
