Our New WordPress Plugin: Widget Clone
On a few recent WordPress projects, we’ve run into the annoying problem of not being able to duplicate or clone a widget.
Sometimes we wanted to use the same widget in multiple locations throughout a WordPress site – for example on multiple WordPress sidebars, in a footer and so on. There was no easy way of doing this without creating a new widget and filling out all the details or widget settings again.
Until now. We released our Widget Clone plugin for free into the community on the WordPress plugin repository. The plugin adds a small ‘Clone’ link at the bottom of a widget, meaning in one simple click you can duplicate a plugin and all of its settings!
