Building an amazing team of talented individuals has always been at the centre of what we do at ClarityDX. It’s more and more unusual for an agency like us to have a fully in-house team, so we’re celebrating our motley crew of WordPress wizards with a new series of team profiles. First up is project manager Roz Woodroffe…

1. What is your role at ClarityDX?

Digital Project Manager

2. What does an average day for you look like?

Get in, make tea and ask one of our designers, Cédrine, for my French phrase of the day. Following that I check my emails, update my tasklist and then it’s morning stand-up with the rest of the office. A lot of my time is spent talking to clients, discussing their needs and requirements, and then relaying this to the relevant members of our design and development teams.

3. What’s the most challenging part of your job?

Managing ever changing client requirements in a fast paced digital world.

4. Any advice for those who want to do what you do?

A lot of project management is to do with temperament. For me, a project manager needs to be enthusiastic, positive, and genuinely like talking to people. You also need to be able to juggle several priorities at once and have a flexible outlook on projects and people.

5. What future design and/or technology developments in the industry are you excited about?

As the digital marketplace becomes increasingly competitive, companies are finally beginning to take user-experience more seriously and this focus on improving UX is really exciting.

From using data to improve the customer experience rather than just sell more, to the increasing ‘thoughtfulness’ of design – the industry is moving in a really positive direction. Personally, I love stumbling on a website which includes beautiful micro-interactions and I’m excited to see how design can make a user journey more special and memorable.

6. What are your passions/hobbies/interests?

In no particular order: Folk Music, Funk & Soul nights, true crime podcasts, cooking, going to the pub, comedies, history, feminism, big bands, reading and pizza.

7. What’s your favourite thing to read in print / online?

I always check in on certain columns on The Pool, pieces in Format Magazine and I’m a Guardian Subscriber. In terms of industry publications, I always find something interesting on the inVision blog.

8. Tell us a random fact about you…

I am an excellent trombone player.
